Tuesday’s match report Paultons 173-1 Nomansland 152-2
In a remarkable match at Paultons, 335 runs were scored for the loss of just 3 wickets on Tuesday evening. The home side’s innings was dominated by Rob Pike who cracked a superb 111 not out, assisted by number three Nathan Feltham with an unbeaten 40. Sam Wallace picked up the only wicket to fall in a tidy 4 over spell of 1-23.
The asking rate of over nine an over looked way out of reach, but Sam Dempster and Laurence Harding got things going until Dempster was out for 19. Harding was joined by Will Hayward and the pair upped the tempo with some busy running between the wickets. After 15 overs the visitors were actually ahead of the Paultons score at the same stage, but still needed 48 from the last three overs. The pair kept going but Hayward was eventually out for a fine 58 at the end of the 17th over. Terry Harrison smacked 13 from the final six balls but Nomansland finished 21 short after a valiant chase. Harding finished unbeaten on 51.
